Went to Lake Tahoe last weekend. Was going to stay for a week. Left the next morning with 188/115. My Losartan+Amlodipine and low-dose Aspirin mix had no effect. Without my meds, I would have undoubtedly stroked at that elevation/altitude (7,000). I felt pressure and shortness of breath as soon as we hit 5,500. I was gasping the entire time and panting like a dog with my mouth open. As soon as we hit the bottom on the way back, I instantly went back to my 133/86 average. This has left me in a terrible depression. I was planning a N.Cali>Oregon>Washington>Utah trip. We had to scrap all our plans and now plan according to altitude. I had 11 lakes on my wish list and now 9 are a no-go. This is so F****D UP! However, 155/96 is nowhere near stroke level and isn't all that bad short-term. But it absolutely causes pounding headaches. You can maintain those numbers for a few years before they start to cause arterial damage. I have secondary hypertension. It's weight related and activates like clockwork. When I hit 261 pounds, boom....149/94 and it goes up 5 points with every 5 pounds. It won't drop until I hit 245. At which point, boom.....120's/80's. I have a gut and do a lot of sitting. It puts pressure on my stomach and kidneys and boom, numbers go up. Sitting+weight=all bad! I wish I would have known that altitude had such a major impact on hypertension.

I got bite by them same bugs in June in nokomis Florida. We had a pool at the motel and them bugs where coming from a creek.😢 Ouch 🤕😳🤕😳

I worked at a Hilton Garden Inn and people parked boats, vans, work van all the time, we never checked tags even though we issued them. ..... Another fact- 90% of us underpaid employees didn't care who parked in our lot, at least one desk clerk would take "tips" to let non guest use our guest only electric car chargers. Point being, we just didn't care.

My daughter and her father never get bug bites. She fussed at me because they eat a lot of fresh garlic in their food and I eat a lot of onions in my food. I'm getting bitten so much! I'm sick of the bumps, rashes and itching. I'm ready to try fresh chopped garlic in my food and was told that garlic powder doesn't work as well.

Unfortunately this is video from many years ago.. not that the content is bad..its actually very good info..just some peoples comments are way offshe trlling you what worked or didnt work for her.i get that.. my issue im having is..im not sure if im getting bit by no-seeums or oak tree itch mites..my bites are raised welts that puss..the puss is like a transparent yellowish,clear color..that crystallizes over bite.. which you remove when wahing or scratching them.. but the wierd thing is after the bite starts healing.. it itches like crazy..its been several weeks and i have a few bites on my elbow.. that suddenly starts itching and stinging..wakes me up at night and drives me crazy.. i will go a day or two without itching..then im scratching the hell out of it..ive used cortisone cream,lotions, calamine lotion.. my brother has same issue..plus my dogs itch intensely at same time..which only occurs this time of year and we moved to new location about 2 yrs ago..lots of oak trees on our property..lots of no-seeums also.. we live in Rancho Tehama in California.. im ready to move if this is the norm..

I was just at Whiteface Mountain a couple of days ago. We took the elevator up but then a storm rolled in and they shut the elevator down, so we HAD to take the "stairs" down (there is steps at the bottom, but the rest is basically rock climbing) 27 stories. My arm and leg muscles still hurt lol, but I'd do it again in a heartbeat for the view up there. Wish I filmed it though, it was wild when the thunderstorm rolled in around me on those rocks.

I appreciate the video, but I would like to share that people were Hebrews that were captured by African and made slaves to all of the Caribbean Islands and the west. Even thought we were the same color many are unfamiliar with the tribe that were mistaken as Africans. It is a known fact. One thing I saw a van life talk about with a hotel they went to; it was one with a security guard in a little car who literally watched them come in and not get out of the car to go check in to the hotel. They were there like 15-20 mins before the guard knocked on th door and said they couldn’t stay there. So that may be a thing. A security guard driving around a parking lot may make you feel safer, but you may also be one of the people they’re trying to shoo away. 😂

Hospital parking lots. Usually the local small town hospital is marked on the Interstate. Patients and visitors come and go all day and night in every kind of vehicle you can think of. There is even a cafeteria inside if you like the food and of course clean bathrooms .

I have probably 100 bites right now. It’s horrible! I have large red welts over most of my body. Thanks for the tips. I will be better prepared next time. If I ever go back! My husband was also bit and had no reaction. These are the worst bug bites I have ever experienced.

I just used one of the small heater apps from a friend when getting bitten on holiday. It worked really well and really quickly, but the heat does hurt quite a bit (for about 5 seconds). I was told the heat actually denatures the protein from the sting venom thus neutralising it and preventing the hystamine reaction of swelling and itching. THe little ceraminc heater plate gets up to about 50 - 55C. It makes good sense I think.
